    Air India’s previous suitor Interups agrees to buy 49% in regional carrier TruJet

    US-based investor Interups which had shown an interest in bidding for Air India has agreed to buy a 49% stake in regional airline TruJet, said a statement. “The funds raised through 49per cent FDI in the company, will be utilized to expand its operations pan India and explore the newer opportunities in the civil aviation sector. We will finalise the exact final amount at a later stage,” said KV Pradeep, group director Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited, which owns TruJet. The Tata Sons-Singapore Airlines (SIA) JV had in mid-2018 placed a firm order for six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The airline has so far inducted two of these aircraft that have a range of flying non-stop to Europe, Far East and Australia and the third one will also come with this range.     Full-service carrier Vistara has decided to roll back the pay cut, implemented by the airline last year, for certain categories of employees from April while the reduced salaries will continue for the management-level executives, including the CEO, according to an e-mail to the airline staff.
