Greece plans to reopen for tourism from May 14

The Greek Government has recently announced that the country will be reopening its borders for tourism on May 14. Further, to ensure that that both the country’s citizens and visitors are safe, it will be forming a 5-step plan.

As per the reports, Greece’s ‘five lines of defense’ strategy to contain the spread of COVID-19 will include the following:

  • All visitors will be required to present a COVID-19 test result, or must be fully vaccinated.
  • A checking system will be in place at Greece’s airports and borders, where passengers will be selected randomly to undergo a rapid test.
  • In case any visitor tests positive for Coronavirus, they will be isolated in a ‘quarantine hotel’.
