LUCKNOW: The budget session, the last before the next assembly election, began on Thursday amid opposition’s protest against the government’s handling of farmers’ agitation and deteriorating law and order situation. Most opposition parties boycotted the address of governor Anandiben Patel to the joint sitting of the houses on the opening day.
As members of the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party and the Congress staged a walkout, Om Prakash Rajbhar-headed SBSP, which was part of the Yogi government till 2018, but parted ways thereafter, did not join the boycott.
