‘Heart of nature’ park attracts vacationers

BOLU, Turkey

Golcuk Nature Park in northern Turkey has become a favorite spot for vacationers, especially during winter.

The park that is famous for its natural beauty and known as the “heart of nature” in the Black Sea province of Bolu — a big tourist attraction with Lake Abant and Yedigoller, or Seven Lakes — is among the leading thermal and health tourist magnets in the region.

The snow depth currently is at 40 centimeters (15.7 inches), while the surface of the lake froze after temperatures dropped to -16 centigrade degrees (3.2 Fahrenheit).

The natural wonder in the snow blankets attracts local and foreign holidaymakers.

412 smuggled artifacts returned to Turkey

ANKARA Hungarian authorities have returned some 412 historical artifacts of Anatolian origin to Turkey, the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry said on Sunday. In a statement, the ministry said the artifacts were seized by Hungarian customs officers and returned to Turkey. Turkey’s Galataport to go live in April: President

Turkey gets back historical artifacts from Hungary

BUDAPEST, Hungary Hundreds of historical artifacts of Anatolian origin recovered in Hungary were returned to Turkey on Thursday. The 412 items were found by Hungarian authorities in a Turkish national’s possession back in 2015. They include the head of a Roman-era marble statue, a marble figurine, metal, wood, and stone artifacts, as well as multiple coins. Zoo gears up for tourism season in southern Turkey

One of Turkey’s largest zoos has opened for visitors, after suspending operations for months due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Zoo and Nature Park in the Mediterranean resort city hosts 1,451 animals of 134 species, including endangered ones.
