Combatting COVID-19: Dubai Tourism intensifies inspections

Officials at Dubai Tourism have stepped up inspection campaigns to ensure compliance with COVID-19 precautionary measures.

During the past year, the authority carried out more than 41,000 inspections. As many as 1,094 violations were found during the checks and 62 venues were shut down.

Qantas Airways delayed plans to restart most international flights by four months until late October, in line with the country’s vaccination programme completion, after swinging to a first-half loss due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. Sheikh Hamdan tours Idex 2021 as organisers declare event a success

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed toured the International Defence Exhibition and Conference, and the Naval Defence and Maritime Security Exhibition in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. Dubai’s Crown Prince viewed many of the latest defence technology products and visited the stand of Emirati defence company Tawazun. Abu Dhabi Ship Building expects revenue growth in 2021 on higher exports

Abu Dhabi Ship Building, listed on Abu Dhabi’s Securities Exchange, expects higher revenue this year as it focuses on exporting its vessels to different markets, its chief executive said. The company which recorded revenue of Dh254 million last year, will target markets in countries that border the Indian Ocean, David Massey told The National in an interview. Norwegian Cruise Line bookings up 40% since start of 2021

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings said bookings have jumped about 40 per cent in the first two months of the year, but that a restart for the beleaguered industry remains months away. Yahsat bullish about growth as it plans to launch new satellite by 2024

UAE satellite operator Yahsat plans to expand its fleet and put a new satellite in orbit by 2024 to boost its broadband operations.
