Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways board recommends 10% capital increase to 22m dinars

Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways said its board of directors recommended a 10 per cent increase in the company’s capital amid the “most challenging six quarters” for the global travel and tourism industry. The budget carrier’s board recommended a capital increase to 22 million Kuwaiti dinars ($73m), from 20m dinars currently, subject to regulatory approval and a vote by the company’s shareholders during the extraordinary general meeting, it said in a statement on Wednesday. Abu Dhabi extends fee exemptions for hotels until June 30

Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism extended exemptions on tourism and municipality fees for hotel operators in the emirate for a further three months to June 30. The exemption follows directives from the Abu Dhabi Executive Council that form part of a stimulus package providing ongoing support to businesses to help overcome economic challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, DCT Abu Dhabi said in a statement on Wednesday. Consumer prices in US show biggest advance in nearly nine years

US consumer prices climbed in March by the most in nearly nine years as the end of pandemic lockdowns triggered a rebound in travel and commuting that pushed up the cost of petrol, car rentals and hotel stays.
