Local, state and federal leaders discuss progress to tourism and labor markets in La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – State and federal leaders visited La Crosse Tuesday to talk about two key areas critical to our economy.

Wisconsin Department of Transportation Acting Secretary Anne Sayers and Explore La Crosse executive director A.J. Frels were at the La Crosse Distilling Company to talk about the need for tourism again.

U.S. Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh visited Dairyland Power Cooperative to discuss the workforce.

2020 is a year the tourism and job markets would like to forget.

“I think the pandemic really has wreaked havoc in cities and towns all across this country,” Walsh said.
